Well, my tremor is pretty much done except for some comfort items and the odd this and that, so here are some shots of the last months work and the maiden voyage around the block, and of course the first off road trial!!

| This is a sweet looking truck. Do you have a picture of your hood mount? What steering column and brade pedal did you use? |

Wow, I am ever glad somebody likes it. I'll get more build photos and some action shots once the tires show up.
The hood mount I used 2x1C-chanel across the fame rail, gussetted and bolted front and rear. Then welded two 6" pieces of 1/2" pipe onto either end. I had the factory peices that attach to the hood itself that were still on the hood, so I ran 3/8" ready rod across the front of the truck through the pipe that was welded to the chanel that is bolted to the frame then goes though the factory hinges and has a nylon lock nut on either end with teflon bushings between hinges and pipe.
The steering column is factory unmolested tilt colum from a gmc safari van. I made the colum so all i use is the horn, indicator stick for signallights only and the key to lock the wheel. The ignition, high beams, wipers and cruise control are controlled from a panel.
I also used the brake pedal assembly and the hydro boost from the same safari van, the parts were all there, with hoses so i took it all.
I had chosen this because of the short shaft column, and military vehicles always have the hydro boost. I did have to make the brake pedal arm longer and straighter to get the pedal in the right position. |

HI
I like your truck. Nice work. I'm thinking about using a safari column just like you did. Did you have to shorten the steering column or modify it to get it to fit. Did you you have to change anything on the foot wells to get it to work. Any advice you have would be apprecited.
Thanks

| Hey great job on your finished truck. Awesome job. I was looking at some of your in process pictures and noticed that you used fiberglass doors. Did you purchase those doors from Thomas? I have a set from Thomas and they are great, but I was wondering what you used for glass channel and latches/strikers? I have the 39.5 iroks also, they are a great looking tire. Looks great! |
